Happy One Year Tucker!

No it's not his birthday. That was back in January, but today marks the one year anniversary that little Tuck joined our family.

We picked him up from Casey and Amber at the Ohio Beef Expo on Thursday of last year. He was so little. And so dang cute. I love corgi puppies- they might just be one of the cutest things ever. Gabby, of course, was not thrilled. I think at times Gabby still wants to send him back, but I know she loves him.

Life with Tuck has been difficult at times, and never a dull moment. We couldn't imagine our life without him now. We love you Tuck and are so happy you are in our family!

High Five for Friday

1. I made this Pinterest inspired wreath for my mom for her birthday!

 2. I had a craft day on a rainy, chilly Sunday. This is my Valentine's Day creation made out of red burlap!

 3. Today is my mom's birthday! Her sweet grandcorgi's wanted to give her special birthday wishes for her special day!

4. Tomorrow is our little man Tuck's first birthday. Since we won't be able to spend it with him, we had a birthday party for him the other night. I can't believe he is one!

5. We just made it to Denver for the National Western Stock Show. Looking forward to a great week at the stock show.

High Five for Friday

Whoa! When did Friday happen?

I have been bad at the High Five for Fridays for awhile now. Plus my brain has been all out of whack with my days of the week since the holidays. So I am going to attempt to get back in a routine!

1. Pinterest inspired me to do a few different things this week. Including this new recipe I tried while my mother in law was in town this week. Chicken A La Gloria is the name and it is pretty yummy. I didn't have parsley for the top, but it was still good.  Recipe found here.

2. I like these bracelets from Apricot Lane - Dallas. If you don't follow them on Facebook, you should. They have some super cute stuff.

3. Pinterest also taught me this week how to clean my stove top. Check out the blog post here that tells you the easy-as-pie way to get all the gunk off!

4. My corgi babies were waiting on their dad to come home. I thought this was precious!

 5. I'm not much on getting older. So instead of a birthday I am having a Day of Celebration. My day of celebration isn't until later in the month, but it makes warm-fuzzies when someone gets in on it early!

How was your week? Have a spectacular weekend!

2012 in review

Happy New Year blog buddies!

I hope everyone had a wonderful Christmas and New Year holiday. I, unfortunately spent some of the holiday with the awful stomach flu. Pretty much everyone has had it, haven't they?

As we are only a few days into 2012, I wanted to look back at some of my favorite things that happened in 2012! Enjoy!

1. 2012 got off to a great start as we donated to the ASA Foundation in Denver. Something I had been looking forward to for a long time. View blog

2. Gabby Mae celebrated her first birthday complete with birthday party and dog cake. She is the princess of our house and will always be my special girl. Little did she know her world would completely change in a month! View blog

 3. Our family grew! Welcome Tucker Rae Hatmaker to the family all the way from New York. He was difficult for awhile (still at times), but we love him and are so glad he is in our family! View blog

4. Drew and I celebrated our 2nd wedding anniversary at the place we got married! Can't believe it has been two years, but wouldn't trade it for the world.

5. In May, Drew and I travelled to Stillwater, Oklahoma to attend a Livestock Marketing Seminar with my mentor Christy Collins. It was an awesome experience, and we learned so much from her and other attendees. View blog

6. We took a family vacation to Mexico Beach. See photo below. Explains it all!

 7. We planted our first garden at our house. Since we moved in last year in July we weren't able to plant a garden. Our okra, zucchini, squash, and bell peppers did well, but some of the other - not so much. View blog

8. I started my {Sale Day Fashion} segment on From Paris With Love. Allowing readers to see what I wear on sale day across the U.S. Can't wait to get it started again in 2013. View blog

9. Drew and I visited the Grand Canyon in December while on our Las Vegas Christmas Vacation. It was absolutely breathtaking.

10. While in Las Vegas, we had the opportunity to dine at Wolfgang Puck's Spago during the 20th anniversary. He was in house the evening we were there, and we had the chance to meet and talk to him. It was an awesome experience, and he was really nice!

2012 was a great year to the Hatmaker family. We can't wait to see what awesome things happen in 2013. We are looking forward to an amazing future!

High Five for Friday

I didn't get a chance to do it last week so I am kind of high-fiving two weeks.

We finally got Drew's old bed put in the guest room plus new bedding from Target! It looks like a brand new room!

Because we have been home, I have been rocking it out in the kitchen. Banana Foster Tart. Looks yum, huh?

At the Peddler's Mall this week we found a whole bunch of these dishes which Drew's Mamaw had when he was a kid. We have a few of her pieces. And now we have a few more. :)

My dogs love tomatoes!

Woof! It's Thankful Thursday

This one goes to the dogs.....

If you a regular reader of my blog or my facebook, you will know that our two dogs Gabby and Tuck have a VERY special place in my heart. If you are new - my dogs are my kids! And I love them for that. Plus they are just like everyone says your kids are suppose to be, polar opposites.

Gabby Mae is the quiet, well-behaved, fabulous princess of our house. She was easy to potty train and listens (most of the time). She will cuddle with you, and needs to be held during thunderstorms. She loves her Granny almost as much as she loves to eat. I cry when I have to leave her (don't judge me) and it fills my heart with love and joy when she is so excited to see us when we get home.

And then there is Tuck. He is loud, crazy, pees when excited, and still has a few accidents. But he loves to dig in the sand, give lots of kisses, and you can't help but look at him and smile. We call him our little Prince Harry. He adds the crazy chaos factor we were missing when it was just me, Drew, and Gabs.

I am so very thankful for Gabby and Tuck. I could't imagine our lives without them. Dogs have the keen ability to make you feel safe and nurtured, and feel your heart with joy with the wag of a tail.

Introducing.....

Our family is growing!

Though we have known this for a few weeks, this is the first time we are making it official. Our family has grown!

Meet Tuck!

We picked Tuck up this evening from our dear friends Casey and Amber Buzzard. Amber's female is Corgi is beautiful and when she told me back in November that she was breeding her, my wheels were turning. Drew and I had been discussing the right time to get another dog. With Gabby turning a year old, we figured it was time to get her a brusband (brother/husband) and most importantly, a playmate.

Of course, we are at a sale this weekend so we are spending our first night together in a hotel. I am happy to report that they are both passed out (along with my husband) on the bed. Gabby didn't seem like she didn't want anything to do with Tuck at first. She still has her moments of growling when he gets to close to her food, toys, or Grandma. But we have shared some of our toys tonight and played chase. I know it will take some time, but I think Gabby will really love him.

Gabby turns 1!

Happy Birthday Gabby Mae!

Well, the big day has now come and gone. My sweet little Gabby Mae has officially turned one year old. By gosh she is growing up so quickly!

So, rewind back to a time when we didn't have a dog. I was always said, "My dog will not wear clothes, " - Wrong. Gabby has sweaters, jackets, t-shirts, Halloween costumes, and Christmas dresses. I am sure there is also probably a time when I said that I would never throw my dog a party. Which as of Monday evening is also wrong as well.

Monday evening a small group of her family - mom, dad, Aunt Laloon, Drew, and I gathered to celebrate the very first birthday of Gabby Mae. We had dinner, cake (both human and dog), and lots and lots of presents! Gabby's official birthday was on Tuesday, but due to us leaving to go out of town we had to celebrate the night before.

Boy, Oh boy she is a lucky little dog! She really enjoyed her birthday party I do believe because she was exhausted after everyone left. No mater what anyone says, she is just like a child to us. She goes everywhere with us, we miss her terribly when she doesn't, and we buy her things just as she was a child. So what would make you think twice about me throwing her a birthday party?

Here are a few photos from her birthday!

Enjoying her cake from Bluegrass Barkery!

Here's to many more wonderful birthdays and dog years! xoxo
