Corgis at the capital!

A few weeks ago after our sale in Gettysburg, Pennsylvania we decided to head to Washington D.C. on our way home. Drew had never been to our nation's capital, and I love the history and monuments. The only kink in our trip was that we had the dogs. Which meant no museums, but you can take them to the National Mall.

First off, let me say that our corgis don't walk on a leash that much. The first 30 minutes of walking was a nightmare. The pulling, choking, and down right craziness was almost enough to make you want to get back in the car.

They started to get the hang of it after a bit. They also enjoyed the massive amount of attention they got. I mean other people had their dogs, but oh my- corgis are popular!

Since we had the dogs and I had been to D.C. before I let Drew go check out the monuments while I stayed back with the dogs. Drew said he could always tell where I was. You just looked for the large group of people and that's where I was.

"Are those corgis?"
"What are there names?"
"Are they boys or girls?"
"Which one is the girl? Which one is the boy?"
"How old are they?"
"That one is fat!"
"Are they brothers & sisters or boyfriend/girlfriend?"
"Can I pet them?"

Tuck loved all the attention! He would jump and bark. I told him we had to be quiet because we had to be respectful. We also had to make sure Tuck didn't pee on any monuments.

They also wanted to jump in the reflecting pool because of the ducks. Now wouldn't that have been embarrassing?

The best story of the day happened at the Lincoln Memorial. Drew went up into the monument while Gabby, Tuck, and I sat on the steps. This really nice, young couple come up to me.

"I know this will sound really crazy, but our friend is obsessed with corgis. Can we take a picture with your dogs?"   Of course!

After one last stop at the Martin Luther King Jr memorial the dogs were pooped out! We headed back to the car for a drink of water and headed home!

TGIF! High Five!

How has your week been?

1. I participated in a Valentine's Day blogging party. I got paired with Amelia over at Mellow Fellow. Check out my post about our gift exchange!

2. Did you watch the Super Bowl? Did you see the awesome Dodge commercial during the 4th quarter promoting Agriculture. Here were my thoughts.

 3. The corgis went to get groomed this week at PetsMart. When I picked them up they had put these adorable bows in Gabby Mae's hair. I loved it! She kept them in most of the day.

 4. We got a new restaurant which is a HUGE deal for us. We tried it out this week, and it was really good. Looking forward to having a place we can go to and not have to drive to Lexington. I had the Pesto Pizza.

 5.  Last weekend, Drew and I were in Fort Worth. Check out this awesome furniture that was on special during the stock show. You could get everything for $3,500 which I thought was a really good deal. One day I'd love to have a big house that I could decorate in this type of decor.

Hope you have a great weekend!

High Five for Friday

1. I made this Pinterest inspired wreath for my mom for her birthday!

 2. I had a craft day on a rainy, chilly Sunday. This is my Valentine's Day creation made out of red burlap!

 3. Today is my mom's birthday! Her sweet grandcorgi's wanted to give her special birthday wishes for her special day!

4. Tomorrow is our little man Tuck's first birthday. Since we won't be able to spend it with him, we had a birthday party for him the other night. I can't believe he is one!

5. We just made it to Denver for the National Western Stock Show. Looking forward to a great week at the stock show.

High Five for Friday

Whoa! When did Friday happen?

I have been bad at the High Five for Fridays for awhile now. Plus my brain has been all out of whack with my days of the week since the holidays. So I am going to attempt to get back in a routine!

1. Pinterest inspired me to do a few different things this week. Including this new recipe I tried while my mother in law was in town this week. Chicken A La Gloria is the name and it is pretty yummy. I didn't have parsley for the top, but it was still good.  Recipe found here.

2. I like these bracelets from Apricot Lane - Dallas. If you don't follow them on Facebook, you should. They have some super cute stuff.

3. Pinterest also taught me this week how to clean my stove top. Check out the blog post here that tells you the easy-as-pie way to get all the gunk off!

4. My corgi babies were waiting on their dad to come home. I thought this was precious!

 5. I'm not much on getting older. So instead of a birthday I am having a Day of Celebration. My day of celebration isn't until later in the month, but it makes warm-fuzzies when someone gets in on it early!

How was your week? Have a spectacular weekend!

Happy Halloween!

Happy Halloween blog buddies!

Unfortunately, we don't get any trick-or-treaters in our neighborhood. Major bummer. Last year, after we moved in our house I was all ready to give out candy and Gabby was dressed in her costume. And no one came! So we retreated to Granny's house.

Happy Halloween from Gabby & Tuck!

Scary!
