I truly almost forgot that today was Thursday, therefore it was Thankful Thursday. And to tell you the truth I was feeling a little blah today. Then I watched Kathie Lee and Hoda.

SPICE Up Your Life!

Happy Monday Blog Buddies! Sadly, when you turn on the television today, there will be no tumbling, rowing, swimming, or running from the Olympics. I'll admit I was pretty sad yesterday when the final events were happening. But you know what I was excited about? The Closing Ceremonies? You know why? The SPICE GIRLS!!!

I don't know how I missed it, but I found on Twitter earlier in the week that the Spice Girls were set to perform. I was pretty excited because I used to be a Spice Girls groupie. I believe I was in the 5th grade when the Spice Girls were at their peak. I had the cassette tape. My friends and I dressed up as them in 5th grade for school. I was Sporty Spice. My VERY first concert was...the Spice Girls! My mom and I along with some other friends and their moms all went to Cincinnati to Riverbend to see them. We sat on the lawn dressed as the Spice Girls, singing and dancing.

Nevertheless, when they hit the telly last night I was singing and dancing just like I was in 5th grade. It also gave me the urge to watch their movie. I wonder how much it is on Amazon?

I thought they all looked exactly the same still after all these years. It is hard to believe that Victoria Beckham was a Spice Girl now that she is super famous and married to the ever handsome David Beckham.

Anyone else catch the Spice Girls last night and have some awesome memories like me?

High Five for Friday!

I missed last week's High Five for Friday because I was out of town. So this week I wanted to make sure that I was on top of my game to get my post done.

- Olympics: If you saw my earlier post about the Olympics, you know my excitement and obession with the Summer Games. I love them. The pride, guts, agony, and glory have me glued to the television and my twitter account.

- Genetic Connection Sale: We are getting back into the swing of Simmental Sale season. Our first sale this weekend is in Mooresville, Alabama. Time to get back to work and make some money!

- I sold my first item on EBay this week. I sold this JCrew bracelet that I purchased back in 2008, but have never worn. I hope the girl in California enjoys it!

- Thursday we had the opportunity to take some videos and look at some cattle. Nothing makes you happier than looking at cattle. It has a sense of peace for me.

- Wednesday night we met one of our clients in Nashville for dinner. Sperry's is a great restaurant that we always stop at when we come home from this sale. They have great steaks, homemade salad dressings, and yummy Lobster Truffle Mac & Cheese!

- I have jumped on the bubble necklace craze. I have a yellow one from JCrew that my best friend Lauren got for me at the Outlet. This week I received a package from ILY Couture with my new turquoise bubble necklace.

The Olympics

Who hasn't been glued to their television this week to watch Team USA battle it out for medals? I have been glued to Twitter to get results from NBC, the US Olympic Team, and any other television personality who will get me my fix. I know that London is 5 hours ahead of us, but I feel better knowing what has happened and then watching it later.

Four years ago in Beijing I was fascinated with the whole Michael Phelps story, and have been engrossed this year as he set out to make history as the most decorated Olympian with 19 metals.

Then to top it off you have other swimmers such as Missy Franklin and Ryan Lochte who are rockin' in the pool.

Of course as a little girl I remember watching the 1996 USA team that won gold. I took 2 classes of gymnastics at Town and Village Dance Studio when I was a little girl, and of course I thought I could be in the Olympics. How about no!? A girl can dream right? I felt so bad for Jordyn Weiber the other night when her All Around dreams were crushed, so I was so happy last night when they won team gold. They rocked, didn't they?

The other morning as I was getting ready in Louisville, I turned out the men's road race in cycling. And man I was hooked. They rode for 6 hours up and down Box Hill. The cyclists are suppose to keep hydrated and energized every 10 minutes. Aids on the side of the road were handing them cross body lightweight sacks for them to take on board with them that was filled with energy bars for refuel. Not that I will ever be a cycler, but I found it pretty fascinating.

By far my favorite part of the Olympics was that special few moments in the Opening Ceremonies that the Queen and her royal Corgis were on the screen. Because 1) I think the Queen is fabulous 2) I love me some Corgis!

I am excited for the Olympics to continue on for the next few weeks. Anthony Davis, former UK basketball player and #1 pick in the NBA draft is on Team USA, so I am keeping a close watch on them as they continue their domination. Plus one of the best runners on Team USA, Gay, is a Lexington native!

How exciting are these times? They make you have a wonderful sense of pride for your country. It brings everyone together!
